VMware tools Command Switch Reference Document

I recently updated my ESXi environment and I need to upgrade my VMware tools.  It shows an advance options but as seems to be the trend in IT these days there is no link to the documentation on what those options are, no indication as to what that reference would be called, or anything to give you a clue.  Also google searching pulls up some examples but again no link to documentation explaining what the switches, flags do exactly.  I don't like just running commands with flags without understanding what those flags are and do.

What do you mean?  Just click on update now in the vcenter gui?  The question is in the bar the advanced options flags are not documented and what those flags mean and do that VMware has provided examples on but no reference material.  Ultimately i used powerCLI to deploy a no restart update to all the machines but again some details on what the flags are available and what they do would be nice.
