VMware attach existing vhdd with snapshots

Please can anyone explain behavior with VMware snapshots?

OldVM have system disk and 5 vhdd. I created NewVM with new system disk. Shutdown oldVM (but not remove vhdd from it, maybe stupid). After that I attach all vhdd to a newVM. Before all works I make snapshots for OldVM and NewVM.

How can I correctly delete all snapshots without loss the data on NewVM ?

OldVM not needed anymore and can be destroyed.

VMware VCenter 6.5. Same Datastore for OldVM and NewVM. vmdx files was not moved or copied.

You can just delete the snapsho on your new VM which will commit the changes made since it was taken.

Thanks for reply!

Is snapshots "memorized" on VMs or VHdds ? For now my snapshots managed by OldVM or NewVM?

Is any chance that OldVM overwrite any changes that make NewVM on disks?

details of each VMs snapshot files is kept in a vmsd file. This is unique to each VM and will only reference snapshots taken specifically of that VM
