Hi folks, Why when I add new VMkernelPorts to my vDS to add it to my Managed Hosts in a Template mode and when I select ip setting == dhcp it doesn't get IP configs and requires me to enter IP ranges for all the VMks I have again.
How can let Hosts to assigs DHCP addresses automatically to newly deployed VMkernelPorts ?
thanks in Advance
Nobody know? impossible
Look at the info at the beginning of the dialog you have shown.
Your template host uses static ip addresses for all vmkernel ports and that's why all other hosts based on this template will also have static ip assignment. Use a host where the vmkernel ports are configured for DHCP as template host.
If I want to use that as it is now what shall I write in the config section to leave configured ports as it is and to add new 3 IPs to the newly created VMkernelPorts in my 3 hosts, the provided example doesn't work with me 192.168.110.54#3, 192.168.1.100
Excuse my question as I don't have a local-server I am still playing with the HOL that isn't familiar to me
Just read what it's written in the dialog...
...enter as many IP addresses as the number of hosts on which the template settings will be applied.
and
IPv4 address: [ e.g. 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3 ]
I did, I configured, Hosts refuses the connections, so I asked again may I miss something then I tried again it worked properly
thanks mate
