VMWare Usage Meter going bonky

I have a Usage Meter instance that insists that one of our vCenter servers is unlicensed for vRealize Operations Manager and doesn't have the extension installed, and is alerting every hour.  Of course, it isn't licensed for it and doesn't have the extension installed, because it doesn't have vRealize Operations Manager installed in the first place.  I don't know what it is detecting, but it's essentially complaining about nothing.  Know any way to get it to shut up about it?  It keeps generating false alarm tickets every hour since 3PM.

At first: Which version of Usage Meter are you using?

And can you please check the extensionList in the MOB: https://YOUR-VCENTER/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager

At the top section (Properties -> extensionList), is there one of the followin extensions displayed?

We have ~15 vCenter servers in the company, 5 of them associated with vCloud including this one, 4 for internal purposes, and none of them have vROps installed.  We have not dealt with it at all.  We have no licenses for it, and haven't ever, as far as I've been told.  This one vCenter is the only one complaining about it, and it just started out of nowhere, unless engineering was doing an unannounced and unapproved change.

In this case your engineering team did not do a good job. vCloud Usage Meter 3.5 is End-of-Support since April 1, 2019 and VMware requires all service and cloud providers to explicitly upgrade to at least version 3.6 (or better 3.6.1 Hotpatch 2). According to your VCPP contract and the VCPP Product Usage Guide you are obliged to do this. Providers who have not updated by March 31, 2019 may be subject to a compliance review.

Version 3.6.1 also has some bugfixes concerning the metering of vROps. Maybe this already solves your problem. Therefore I strongly recommend to update to version 3.6.1 Hotpatch 2 as soon as possible.

Good to know.  I'll forward that on to my engineers.  Thank you very much.

I just heard there was an engineer working on getting them upgraded, because VMWare was troubled by our issues with it back in December, but he was let go back in early March due to headcount reduction.  (RIF)  Nobody has picked up on it since then.  I would bet this might encourage more movement on that matter.
