Hi, i have an issue with a VM which is in orphan state. i check all hardware and there is no missing disks. Do you have any idea on which could be the issue?
Hi PIPA1984 for removing the orphaned state the steps are the following:
1. Take note of the .vmx config file of your VM path.
2. Remove your VM from inventory (right click --> remove from inventory. do not click the remove from disk option since you'll delete the VM)
3. Re register your VM.
3.a Browse the datastore you have noted in point 1 to the VM folder.
3.b right click the .vmx file and click register
3.c Select compute nodes (host/Cluster) and VM folder location.
4. Power on the VM

Also take a look at this doc: Adding and Removing Virtual Machines
Regarding the possible causes:
It might be related to a failed HA failover or a hardware issue, it's worth checking the logs.
Warm regards
