VM administrator's password (Windows 2019 template)

Hi,

I've built a VM from  a Windows 2019 template.

I know the local administrator's password for the template.

When I power up the new VM it says the administrator's password needs to be changed.

It invites me to enter and confirm the new password but only gives me around 3 seconds to enter both which is too short for me.

The VM then does a reboot and asks me to enter the administrator's password(exisiting). However the VM is not accepting what I know is the correct password.

Questions

1. During the VM build has VMWare done the equivalent of a sysprep and this has changed the administrator's password. If so what has it changed it to?
2. Do you know of a way to extend the period allowed to enter the new administrator's password?

I've selected "Customize Guest OS" during the VM build.

ps. the only way I can fix this is to use the change password function of SystemRescueCD
