VM Startup/Shutdown order clarification

There are three possibilities in "Virtual Machine Startup and Shutdown".

1. Automatically Ordered
2. Automatic
3. Manual Startup

Am I correct in saying that ESXi

1. Will process all the "Automatically Ordered" VMs first before starting the "Automatic VMs?
2. The "Automatic" VMs will start on mass only after the Automatically Ordered" ones complete.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything highlighting exactly what happens.

Yes that is correct as far as I know, strange it is not documented properly indeed.
