Hello, I am new at the port mirror, I am not sure if this is possible in Vsphere. Let me explain a bit the scenario.
we have a Network analyzer app NAC (VM) who receives all the traffic from the network (all vlans) using a direct physical port connected to a physical SW port in mirror mode, the vm is in Hyper-v.
The Vsphere environment is a 4 ESXI node cluster (VxRail), we add an additional physical NIC to each node for the mirror, in case we had a host failure, we have to move manually the cable to the other node where the VM moves, so we need to configure the port mirror using a VDS to be prepared in all the nodes in case of the vm Moves to another host.
We will migrate that VM to Vsphere, so the question is how could I replicate that configuration on Vsphere and received all the traffic from that physical SW port (mirror mode) through the VM nic and analyze all traffic? Port mirror session in VDS is the only method? Which session type should I use?
