VCSA 6.7U3 upgrade process

Hi All

I am looking to upgrade to VCSA 6.7U3 shortly however the release notes state that an upgrade from 6.7 U1a is unsupported and to upgrade to 6.7 U1b first. I'm currently running a version of 6.7 prior to U1a, does anyone know if this is supported? It's unclear whether I will need to upgrade to U1b first...

the reason is not reported, but as you wrote it is not supported. It is recommended to do as vmware note

Upgrade Notes for This Release

Upgrade from vCenter Server 6.7 Update 1a to 6.7 Update 3 is not supported. You must first upgrade to vCenter Server 6.7 Update 1b or 6.7 Update 2, and then patch your system to 6.7 Update 3.

Your VCSA must be at 6.7 U1b before you can upgrade to VCSA 6.7 U3.

ok so just to be clear, I'm not currently running U1a, i am running U1. Are you saying this prior version is also unsupported or is it specifically U1a that isnt supported? Thanks

Youre right but the matrix also doesnt specify U1a is unsupported which it typically would do which is why im seeking clarification.

Think im just going to lab this out and see what happens

Only if you have installed the VCSA 6.7U1a update you cannot perform the direct update on VCSA 6.7 U3. If you have version 6.7 U1 you can upgrade to version 6.7 U3, without making further updates.

If you have a version variant (es. 6.7u1a etc...), you need to check the release notes of that variant. Otherwise look at the compatibility matrix of the major releases (6.7 U1).
