Using PowerCLI for VMWare ESXi 5.5

I'm trying to figure out how to use PowerCLI for ESXi 5.5 to automatically create and start new machines from command-line. I see the latest PowerCLI version is 6.5.3. If I opt to use that version, would it be compatible with ESXi 5.5 environments? Also, how would I obtain the CLI program?

Yes, it's compatible. From a PowerShell 5 or higher system pull it from the Gallery with Install-Module VMware.PowerCLI.
