Upgrade license key

Hi All,

I'm having a question regarding the upgrade of license keys.

I'm still running vSphere 5 Essentials Plus with an active vmware support subscription until January 21, 2020.

Our current hardware is not supporting the latest version and will not be replaced in a short-time.

I have decided to cancel the renewal of the vmware support subscription but it's not clear to me what will happen with the license keys.

Can i upgrade the current vSphere 5 license keys to the latest available version and keep running vSphere 5 until we have new hardware and install the latest version with the upgraded keys?

I guess once the support subscription ends i cannot upgrade the license keys anymore?

Once you upgrade your keys youre required to upgrade the vcenter/hosts as you technically no longer own vsphere 5 keys.

you can keep running vsphee 5 but it will not be supported by vmware.u can upgrade keys..

login into your license management portal and check for new version or else contect vmware support

Hi,

I believe you cannot switch from the 5.5 to the 6.7 license but you must first buy a 6.5 and then 6.7 For more info you should call VMware support
