Upgrade VCSA 6.0 with External Database (Oracle) to VCSA 6.7 Embedded

Hello everyone, I recently came across a problem regarding the VCSA upgrade. Today in the environment we have the VCSA 6.0U3 with external database oracle. In order to migrate to VCSA 6.7 we would have to change the format of the base from external to internal because VCSA from 6.5 no longer supports external bases, only for vCenter Server for Server Windows. And I have not found any documentation related to this kind of environment. Due to the major changes in vCenter and ESXi between versions 6.0 and 6.7 there are some recommendations on performing a clean install of vcenter server. Did any of you come across this type of problem? We have the NSX and vRealize suite integrated into this environment, the cost of a clean installation is very high. THanks!!!

Hi,

If you are upgrading a vCenter Server Appliance that is using an external database, the external database will be migrated to the embedded PostgreSQL database of the new upgraded appliance. During the upgrade, you must select a storage size for the new appliance that is suitable for the database size.
