I am trying to update ESXi from 5.5 to 6.5, booting from CD. All VM's shutdown.
I am getting an error of conflicting vib error, host versus metadata.
HUAWEI-bootback-hio-200u2 10EM.550.0.0.1331820
It offers to remove it and also advises to create an ISO.
When I SSH into the server and esxcli software vi b list | grep HUAWEI, it finds it. I am hesitant to allow the installer to remove it, looks like NIC driver?
Could someone point to some documentation on how to procede?
Thank You
Lou
I also have the Huawei ES3000 V2 PCIe SSD, and there the driver is the same for all versions 5.5, 6.0, 6.5. Just update to the latest version before installing ESXi.
It looks like that is a driver for a Huawei ES3000 V2 PCIe SSD. I have SSD but it is SATA so I THINK it is unnecessary. I did find a later level, will try to test removing it, doing the update and then installing the later level. If it works on my test system (virtual), I will take a couple of strong belts and try the production systems.
