I have a couple of VMs I want to download from standalond ESXi 6.5U1 server (no vCenter) to a Windows machine. When I try to download, for example, a 6GB .vmdk file I end up with a ~500KB file. ISO files up to 4GB download fine, so I'm not sure why this behavior is occurring. There are no snapshots and the VM is shut down. Is this a bug or a feature? Is there a workaround for it?
Alternatively, you can use a third party software, such as FileZilla or WinSCP, to copy the .vmdk file.

Unfortunately, the latest Fling client did NOT resolve the problem. However, WinSCP seems to have successfully downloaded the .vmdk image.
I'm pretty sure that I've been able to download .vmdk files with the datastore browser before. Anybody know when or why this was changed?
