Unable to add physical NIC for teaming

We're using vSphere 6.5 in combination with a vCenter server and I'm trying to create a NIC team but I'm unable to add the second physical NIC to our vSwitch because it simply doesn't show in the 'unused adapters' list. However the NIC does show in the 'Physical adapters'-section. See screenshots below:

Physical adapters (it shows vmnic1 which I want to add to the vSwitch for NIC teaming)

vSwitch settings (it doesn't show vmnic1)

How do I add vmnic1 to the vSwitch for NIC teaming?

Did you already tried to click on the green plus at the "Manage Physical Network Adapters for vSwitch0" page?

You need to add it first, then will it show up at "unused adapter".

After it is listed you may edit to the "standby" or "active" adapters.
