If you have purchase vCenter vSphere Essentials Plus and higher, then this should have VDP included in the license.

There are no free solutions available from VMware.

VMware doesnt offer free solution. However, veeam offers free VM backup solution. Check veeam site for more details.

There's zero reason to deploy VDP at this point because it is end of life and will be unsupported soon.
