   hello

when I try to turn on a VM  on  ESXi5.5, I encounter with this virtual machine question "the redo log of Microsoft Windows Server 2012(64bit).vmdk is corrupted. if problem persists , discard the redo log" and I press OK and nothing happen and VM turned off .in addition  VM has no snap shot .

The redo log is corrupted means that one delta.vmdk or sesparse.vmdk is damaged.

The term redolog is only used for delta-files as this type of damage only occurs on that filetype.

So your statement "VM has no snapshot" is at least dubious.

As always in this cases we need to see at least that vmware.log that states this problem.
Sometimes this type of damage can be repaired - but probably you should already prepare yourself for the case that you really need to discard the snapshot.

By the way - this error message asks for your OK - but ESXi does not do anything on its own to fix the problem.
Anyway - attach latest vmware.log to your next reply.
