The cpu model is different, but is there a difference in cpu function between the same generation?

Hi,

There are 2 hosts.(6.7 u2)
The CPU for each host is as follows.

1. Intel Xeon Gold 6200 Series

2. Intel Xeon Gold 5200 Series

If you check the compatibility, it will come out in the same generation

vMotion error occurs in certain virtual machines. (evc compatibility check)

Even in the same generation, if the CPU models are slightly different, is there a difference in supported cpu functions?

Mate, are these hosts lies in same cluster?

if yes, have you checked which evc shown on the VM which throws vmotion error?

This happens if you raised/changed the evc mode on cluster but it didn't applied on the vm lying on it, unless you reboot the vm.

Have a look if that help!

Hello, Arvind_Kumar

Yes, they exist in the same cluster.
I have not enabled evc mode on the cluster.
5200 Series and 6200 Series are identified as the same generation (cascade-lake). Isn't it correct to be vmotion without activating evc mode?

Thank you for your help
