System design question - realtime replication of VMs

I currently have 5 VMs on a Vmware 7 Host with Synology NAS iScsi LUN datastore. Then I have another identical setup (1 Host + NAS) running in the same building and use Nakivo to create snapshot-based replicas of my 5 VMs each night. On a couple of occassions I started one of the replica VMs following a operating system crash. Glad to have the VM running again but we lost data from the time the replica was created overnight. Due to the time it takes for Nakivo to perform incrimental replicatas each night I cannot do hourly replicas for example.

I am open to a diffent approach where I might have to set things up differently, but I want to have a realtime replication of my VM environment so that if I have either a VM, Host or Datastore issue, I can switch over to a secondary VM environment with little to no data loss nor downtime. Similar to when you have a Hard drive RAID 1 and one disk fails, you have a mirror on the second drive with everything on it. Im expecting someone to say its doable but you need a special VMware licence for some sort of cluster for your hosts, and a higher model NAS that can do realtime mirroring of the datastore. Has anyone got a setup similar to this, and would like to share your story?

Hi,

About VM replication between two locations, you must use CDP solutions such as Veeam BR, Zerto, EMC RecoverPoint and some solutions like them.

For your scenario with a need for minimizing data loss and ensuring quick recovery, Nakivo's realtime replication could be a suitable technical solution to implement in addition to what you have. Better RPOs with instant failover. https://www.nakivo.com/real-time-replication/

Dear Barry, please stop posting only about Nakivo, clearly you have some kind of affiliation, this is this VMware Community Forum, not the "Let's point everyone to Nakivo Forum".

I posted the link only once, where it was needed. Sorry

Dear Taras, you did indeed post the link only once, but you have been dropping the name Nakivo quite extensively over the last couple of days, on all kinds of threads
I assume you consider that one of your tasks as the Lead Nurturing Specialist at Nakivo, but it becomes annoying.
On the border of spamming imho.
