Staged patches

Hi guys. Hope everyone's well. 

How do I remove a staged patch please? I've seen mixed articles where some say just reboot the host without remediation and the staging goes away while others say the staged patches remain staged. 

This is for vSphere 6.7 on a Dell ESXi build.

"Staging patches and extensions is supported for hosts that are running ESX/ESXi 4.0 and later. You can stage patches to PXE booted ESXi 5.x hosts, but if the host is restarted prior to remediation, the staged patches will be lost and you will have to stage them again."
