Slow to create datastore via command line and also via graphical interface

When trying to format a data store, it takes a long time in the creation task, or even to show information of the data store you are creating / formatting

Task: "Create VMFS datastore" for all the hosts

On what type of device are you attempting to create a VMFS datastore?

I am trying to create datastore on ESXi hosts that are version 5.5. Trying via vCenter, more precisely under the ESXi cluster.

I visualized the 'new' datastores, however, when trying to format, it takes a long time, and sometimes there is a timeout error when contacting the host or the error reported above.

Infrastructure

vCenter version 6.5

ESXi hosts version 5.5

Number of nodes in cluster 6

I'm asking what storage device is providing that datastore.

Thank you for trying to help me.

Sorry for the lack of information.

But, we use the following technology to provide 'datastores'.

Vendors: Hitachi, EMC

Type: Fiber Channel by HBA

This barely helps, do you have a team that manages your storage, can you get more information from them. Hitachi and EMC(Dell now) are different companies. What would help us is more information like what products are being used no the vendor names.

Based on the fact you have 5.5 hosts(which isn't supported anymore). You really should go through

VMware Compatibility Guide - System Search

and make sure all your hardware firmware and drivers are up to a supported version level and then see if it gets better.
