Scenario I have is there are several Terminal Services Hosts running Server 2012R2 and then there is an App server running Windows 2016. SMB performance is really poor. I am pretty certain it is something with the 2016 Host and not the 2012R2s because I can copy back and forth between other servers as expected.
There are tons of settings floating around dealing with disabling the various offloads on the NICs but none of those have seemed to help. I am using VMXNET3 and tried going to E1000 but pretty much got the same results. If I copy something to the host it seems it is going to go quickly but then drops down to a very low speed.
Anyone have any pointers on the best way to track this down?
TIA
Mike
Hi,
What version of ESxi are you using?

6.5 Update 2b and I have already seen that particular article and applied the workaround.
The box actually seems fine other than the SMB access. The current workaround is to have the users RDP directly to the App box and run the application from there. However, accessing from the TS boxes the SMB performance is very poor.
