Simplivity Hyperconverged

Hello Guys!

we have implemented four simplivity nodes and four compute nodes in our datacenter and everything is working well. currently we are trying to change the root password for all the nodes.

the compute nodes worked well after changing the ESXi root password, we were able to SSH and login normally, but for the simplivity nodes it seems that the OVC (omnistack virtual controller) is trying to access the ESXi using the old password, thus it locks after many attempts.

what should we do on the OVC level after changing the ESXi root password on the simplivity nodes

Appreciate you feedbacks

best regards,

Hello Guys!

we have opened a case with HPE and they resolved the issue using the tool described in the following link:

you may find also the tool attached.

Hopefully this will help you in case you faced the same issue.

Hello AhmadMDS

OVC is using a different root account/password. You should review your Pre-Flight documentation. Pre-flight documentation is where all the HPE-Simplivity Deployment Team will rely on.

Otherwise, can you try to login to OVC using the Domain Account? If you are using SSO Authentication type.

Hi

Thank you for your reply!

yes, we are able to SSH the OVC using vCenter administrator acount. During the deploymnt of the Simplivity nodes we have used a simple password, bu t now after completing the deployment we would like to change the password to a more complex one.

we have changed the root password from the DCUI of the ESXi, but it seems that we should change it from the OVC also, so that each OVC can access its correspondent simplivity node.

is there any command that we should in order to change the password used to login the simplivity node

thank you in adcance

Hi AhmadMDS

You may try this Simplivity Tool

Here is the whitepaper/Guide

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-sv11607en_us&docLocale=en_US

If you have a support from HPE-Simplivity, you can give them a ring to confirm the process.

Hope this help.
