Shutdown/Startup during power outage

Are there any special recommendations for VM settings to deal with power outages? We have our 2 Cisco rack servers plugged into battery UPS, however, I thought there were some settings on Shutdown Process for power outages. We run VMware ESXi 6.7. Any info or help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Which is the brand of you UPS?

For example APC PowerChute works very well on ESXI

Hi,

Usually the UPS has software that integrates with the vCenter \ Esxi. Using a script it is possible to manage the shutdown of the virtual machines and Esxi hosts at a certain percentage from the exhaustion of the battery life.

I handled the same thing with ABB software

Thanks! So is there an area in vSphere Web Client that I can adjust these settings on the VMs?

You need to ask the UPS supplier.

The one I installed included an additional network card connected to the UPS to network the UPS. Subsequently, a virtual appliance was provided which was installed on Esxi, to manage the scheduling of the entire virtual infrastructure.

This explanation comes a little out of the arguments of this community.

What UPS do you have, ask the UPS support who will be able to give you instructions on how to proceed.
