Setup test environment that's isolated and clone servers to it.

Hi,

I am hoping someone can assist me with this.  I am not well versed in VMware so I need some help (kinda step by step) in setting up an isolated test environment for 3 of our servers.

I need the test network/environment completely segregated from the production network/environment and then I need to clone three servers into it for testing some upgrades.

I am running VMware vSphere client 5.5 and can do it through their or the web client, which ever you can help with.

After I get the initial setup above completed, I may need to work out remote access to the test environment from the outside....not from the production network, but I want to get the first part done first since I am already stuck.

Yes, the described scenario is possible. You ahve to create a vSwitch with No physical adapters configured for this vSwitch. This ensures that no traffic from the test environment find its way into production.I guess this community thread might help you, https://communities.vmware.com/thread/253726.
