Setting default to start vm's with host

Hi.

I have been following the instructions at: Edit Virtual Machine Startup and Shutdown Settings

I am trying to set my machines to start up together with the host (unless specifically disabled)

However, new machines created do not automatically start with the host and require manually configuring (at per-machine override section).

ESX + vCenter version = 6.7

what am I missing?

AFAIK automatic startup needs to be configured per-VM, i.e. there's no setting to make automatic startup the default for newly created VMs.
