Searching the entire event log in vCetner for a cluster

The search feature in Monitoring/Events for a cluster appears to relevant to the 100 events

displaying on a particular page. I want to be able to search for a term for any event that

occurred in say the last 30 days. Where can do a more thorough and specific search?

Event log is just a visual output of the event's table of the vCenter database.
You can export the events (i'm not quite sure how many days backwards)
also you can query the vcenter database and export the events if there is no event rotatation configured

In addition to that please consider using a syslog on your vCenter/VCSA.
