When I revert a snapshot it is turning off my virtual machine anyone point me to why that would happen?
Did you take the snapshot while the VM was powered on, or off?
Did you include the memory state in the snapshot?

I took the snapshot when the machine was powered on. I unchecked memory state to save time.
Then that's intended behavior. If you don't save the memory, how can it revert to an online state when the memory from that state has been trashed? It can't, so you have to power it up again.
it doesn't always power off and I was able to do it in the previous version
If you told it not to capture the memory, it reverts to a powered off state.
