Ok. found it. The vCenter Server Appliance GUI installer does not support restore from a backup with NFS or SMB protocol. To perform a restore from an NFS or SMB protocol, use the vCenter Server Appliance Management API.

Hi,

SMB protocol is available from VCSA 6.7 U2, are you using this version to restore your vCenter 6.7 ?

Build number for 6.7U2 is 13010631.

Regards,

Karl

Hi Karl,

i have tried to restore with the installer. But this isn't possible.
Backup with this version is possible but for the restore you need to use the old protokolls (ftp, http, ftps, https) in the installer.exe

I hope VMware will support the protocolls in the near furure also in the installer.exe!

regards

Michael
