Topic Name : Reboot or Shut Down the vCenter Server Appliance

Publication Name : vCenter Server Appliance Configuration

Product/Version : VMware vSphere/6.7

Question :

Attempting to restart the vCenter Server, we get the popup message "My first thought was to reboot the vCenter server L7C-VCSA, but when I get to that screen I get another daunting message, “Shutting down or restarting now will power off, suspend, or shut down running virtual machines according to the current system shutdown policy.”  Will restarting the the vCenter server affect other virtual machines??

HI,

Usually it should not restart any VMs, if you restart vCenter. But please check VM startup/shutdown orders or policies set before doing it.
