Remove an orphaned vm

How to remove an orphaned virtual machine under vsphere 6.5 U1.  The vm was deleted under a esxi session but vSphere sees it as "orphaned".  How to remove the orphan?

Remove from inventory should work:

(Right-click --> All Virtual Infrastructure Actions --> More Uncategorized Actions --> Remove from Inventory)
