Hi,
Is it possible to create a cluster with an esx host in a remote location? Basically, if our building burns down I would like our VMs to keep running at a backup data center.
Thanks.
Instant failover, or with some acceptable level of delay?
How were you intending on working that scenario in terms of storage?
Some delay wouldn't be a deal breaker.
Yes, I was wondering about the storage as well. Would sharing resources with latency introduced by distance cause too many problems? They are going to be on the same network and so in theory VCenter wouldn't be able to tell that one host was 20 miles away.
If you following the rules and requirements for a Stretched Cluster than yes. If not than no.

Joerg
