Hi,
I am newbie to VMware vSphere and I am trying to create a windows guest OS customization using "Use the following IP settings option". On old flash based UI I notice that when I do not set the DNS, I get "There are errors on DNS page ..."
Is DNS settings mandatory for static IP settings? Is there any official documentation regarding this. When I look at https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.7/com.vmware.vsphere.vm_admin.doc/GUID-CAEB6A70-D1CF-446... there no mention of DNS being mandatory.
Further when I use the HTML5 I do not see the error so it is a bit confusing if DNS is mandatory or not.
Any help regarding this question would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time.
