Problem editing setting boot order Esxi 6.5

i everyone

I have the problem that I cannot edit the advanced parameters of my virtual machine stored in Esxi 6.5

I type bios.bootOrder and cdrom, floppy, hdd, then save but it doesn't work

I download the .vmx file, I added the configuration "bios.bootOrder = "cdrom, floppy, hdd" and I uploaded in the VM directoy, but It doesn't appear the configuration when I check the parameters again.

Hi,

maybe the setup directly in bios (vm) could be the better choice?

Just my thought.

Hi @christianZ

If I have an ESXI server that I do not manage, a virtual machine does not allow editing the BIOS to change the boot, That is gray does not allow to select
I wanted to edit these parameters in my ESXi so that when starting directly it starts from the loaded ISO, a kind of test and I run into this problem

Hi again,

for editing the .vmx file you need the access rights to this file (directory)  and the vm must be off.

But this method is not recommended.
