I am deploying the OnCommand Unified Manager via an OVA (fresh deployment). Once it has been deployed and on the first boot, it ask for you mount the VMware Tools so it can install/update them. However, the OS is detected as "Guest OS: Other (32-bit)". When you mount the tools using the ISO, there are no tools for "Other (32-bit)" operating system.
I know this is a Linux OS, but vSphere doesn't see it as that. Anyone ran into this problem trying to upgrade VMware Tools on a machine where vSphere/VMware can not detect the OS?
Solved.
What I did was power the machine off, mounted the ISO for Linux at the following path: [] /vmimages/tools-isoimage/linux.iso
Then powered the machine back on and it picked up the tools and installed.
