Nvidia Grid VMware

Hi,

I am currently testing a Nvidia A40 GPU card physically installed on a vsphere 7 node.

The card is now installed and configured in passthrough mode and accessible to a single VM. I would like to know what are the prerequisites to make the card work on multiple virtual machines (between 5 and 10 VMs) in shared mode, knowing that the VMs are running under VMware Vsphere Standard license.

Thanks

You need the Enterprise+ license for the required vSphere features to support NVIDIA GRID, and I believe you need Nvidia licenses too.

https://docs.nvidia.com/grid/13.0/product-support-matrix/index.html note 24.

https://www.vmware.com/content/dam/digitalmarketing/vmware/en/pdf/docs/vmw-datasheet-vsphere-product... page 8 - "NVIDIA GRID vGPU Accelerate AI/ML and graphics workloads. Supports multiple vGPUs per VM." and "Accelerated Graphics for Virtual Machines"
