So I'm setting up two ESXi hosts with a direct link to one another for data replication. The network cards being used are HPE 640FLR-SFP28 25Gb/s Mellanox ConnectX-4 with the proper 25Gb/s HPE DAC cables between both ports. I'm doing bandwidth testing with iperf between the the two hosts directly on ESXi and only seeing max of 15Gb/s. After I disable DRSS and RSS on the nmlx5_core driver, I see around 20Gb/s, but I can't get up to the 25Gb/s that the cards and cables are rated at.
I've updated to the most recent Mellanox driver for ESXi from their website, and also updated to the most recent firmware version. ESXi version is 6.7 U1. Is there anything I'm missing here?
