Network Issues with SQL Server 2017

Hi there,

we have some NetworkIssues with our SQL Server 2017 ( Windows Server 2019) Hosted at VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 10764712.

Randomly the Connection to SQL Server were Dropped/Closed.

We actually have LRO disabled. Enable or Disable Software LRO for All VMXNET3 Adapters on an ESXi Host

But nothing changed. The Problem occurs randomly few times a day.

Anyone an Idea how to fix this ?

Hi,

change vNIC type from VMXNET3 to E1000 first, to eliminate a potencial problem with VMXNET3 and related offload feature.

Is it working stable now?

So maybe the problem lies on lower layer. Check how port group on virtual switch is configured:

- general teaming and loadbalancing policy settings,

- number of uplinks

Is this VM the only one that is using this portgroup?
