I created a Windows Server 2019 VM with Hyper-V installed on the VM and everything was working fine. Then setup a cluster in my vcenter. Once I added the vmware host to the cluster, my windows server 2019 (with hyper-v) wont start. Any help would be appreciated!
Mate, Is it throwing any error?
Also, please check the logs.
Can you please check for any EVC mismatch on this vm, mate?
Your vm should show the exactly same evc which is applied on the cluster.
Please go through the logs first in order to troubleshoot better on this.
Meanwhile there can be couple of tries which you can do..
* Turn off EVC mode on the cluster and try to power on the vm
* vmotion the machine on to another one and try to turn it on
* reset the CPUID Masking inorder to accept the cluster's evc
Okay I tried the 3rd recommendation and that didnt help. Turning off EVC mode did fix the issue.
But I cant vmotion now.
