    Hello,

Still a n00b here, but would like to learn. I have a situation that I cannot figure out. At home I have 6 servers. I am using vmware esx 6.5 on all machines.

    1) AMD 8350, 32GB RAM, 4TB storage, nothing much.

    2-6) E5-2620v2, 32GB RAM, 300GB storage each, got IPMI & WoL

I am doing some CPU based rendering, and the setup is following. On the AMD machine, there is a vm, that has rendering program. + like 10 different vm's for streaming, music, little NAS etc. All the other servers (2-6) each have installed a vm windows 10, that has rendering program slave. I would like to do, that if I send a picture to render (to the 8350 machine host), then it will turn on all the other machines. Otherwise they would be in standby mode.

    Anyone can help?

You could probably use PowerCLI to connect to those other hosts and resume (or boot) your worker VMs. You'd just need something that kicks off that script when a new image was received at the master side.
