NUC8i7BEH reboot issues after successful installation

Hi

I was installting ESXi 6.5u2 on the NUC8i7BEH. after installation the system was up and running.

Rebooting the NUC the error message "A bootable device was not found" appeared.

When I set the legacy Boot Priority in BIOS to the SSD of the NUC, the system was able to reboot. However after another reboot , no bootable device was found.

To verify I installed XUBUNTU, this installation was fine and the system found the drive and the system came up after reboot.

reinstalling ESXi 6.5u2, same thing happened as the first time: no bootable device found.

I upgraded to 6.7u1 same  problem. The system starts up only if I set the boot disk order in BIOS and reboot. After a second recoont the device was not found again

I also installed the system on the external USB flash card, it has exactly the same behavior

On the NUC UEFI is disabled

legacy boot is enabled and set to the internal SSD

when I have internal UEFI shell enabled the problem exists all the time

pressing F10 and select the boot device -> system starts up

What is wrong?

Thank you for a feedback
