Using ESXi 5.1.0 and I am trying to add the second port of a Chelsio T420-CR to a second virtual switch. I have already assigned the first port to another virtual switch. The first port was added well over 7 months ago and has been working without issue.
The first port is assigned as vmnic4 and the second port is assigned as vmnc4b. This is how they appear under configuration / network adapters:
When I attempt to add vmnic4b to the new virtual switch, it does not appear as an available nic. All that appears are the two other open ports from another intel nic:
While I have been using VMware for some time, I would not consider myself an expert ... by any means, so please be gentle. sigh.
Ideas? What else do you need to help assist?
