Move/Migrate VMKernel PG to another vSwitch

Hi Expert,

Can we move/migrate vmkernel portgroup from Standard vSwitch0 to Standard vSwitch1 seamlessly?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Luthfi

Depends on the uplinks and what their physical connections are.

Hi Scoot

it would be like below

from

vmnic2 --> vSwitch0

vmnic3 --> vSwitch0

move or migrate to

vmnic0 --> vSwitch1

vmnic1 --> vSwitch1

Note.

the migration is only for VMkernel (vMotion, vSAN) and VM Traffic Port Group. Management Port Group will stay in vSwitch0

I also mentioned the physical connections of the uplinks (vmnic0/1/2/3)

Hi Scott,

vmnic0 (10G FO) --> vSwitch1 --> ToR1

vmnic1 (10G FO) --> vSwitch1 --> ToR2

vmnic2 (1G Base-T) --> vSwitch0 --> ToR3

vmnic3 (1G Base-T) --> vSwitch0 --> ToR4
