Mouse Not Working Upon Restore

Hello,

I have restored a virtual machine onto ESXi 7.0, but the mouse is unresponsive. When I open the VM to full-screen, vm is also unresponsive.

VMX file shows:

usb.present="false"

usb.vbluetooth.startConnected = "TRUE"

uuid.bios = "56 4d 99 28 66 84 2c c5-3c ad 37 ce d0 97 f0 25"

uuid.location = "56 4d 35 9b cc e7 25 24-c6 18 8e 35 3c 43 f8 db"

When I set usb.present to "TRUE", I am still having issues, with the VM even blue screening.

Any advice on this?

Turns out, no need for VMWare Tools.

Just added USB controller to VMs and now work as intended. Guess it cannot be done via configuring vmx file.

What version is the VM?

If its older, did you try to do a vHardware Upgrade?

Can you confirm that VMware Tools have been installed after setting the correct Guest OS in the VM's settings, i.e. after fixing the issues from your previous question?
