Migrating

Hi All

I have 2 hosts under a cluster on a Dell Vrtx M640

Both hosts are showing in VCentre. The problem is when I try migrate a server from host 1 to host 2, the host 2 doesn't show up on the list.

I checked the network setup and all is fine there.

Any other idea's ?

It's not then compatible with that type of migration you're attempting to perform. Need more info on your setup to determine why that is including type of license, vMotion connectivity, etc.

For live (hot) migration, you need to set up the vMotion traffic service in at least one of your VMkernel ports on both of ESXi hosts.

Use vSphere Web Client (FLEX) or vSphere Client (HTML5) and start the migration task, using "Compute and Storage" option.

Also make sure to edit the VM settings to remove any ISO that resides on a datastore that is only accessible by the source ESXi host.
