Hello,
I need to have several ESXi 6.7 hosts each take specific action on entering maintenance mode.
Specifically I need for some local VMs to gracefully shut down.
I don't want to create scripts for this, I want to just extend the native "Enter Maintenance Mode" functionality.
I could make this work with triggers, however, the "Entering Maintenance Mode" trigger doesn't seem to trigger until the maintenance mode prerequisites are satisfied (no running VMs).
Is there a place to define actions to take when "Enter Maintenance Mode" is called in the UI?
Like a VM pre-freeze script?
I can't imagine that I'm the only one who needs this.
