Lose all connectivity when adding 4th VMNIC to VM

This is a strange one...I've got a lab and am testing multi-nic Kubernetes hosts inside of VMware.

Long story short, my VM connectivity is fine if I have anything under 3 vmnics.  The second I add a 4th vmnic -- regardless of what the VLAN/port-group mapping is, all vmnics lose connectivity.

I've individually tested each port-group/vlan and they all work individually.

I see the MAC address of all 4 vmnics show up on my switch, but the VMs cannot ping anything on those VLANs, nor can they be pinged.  The linux interfaces associated with the vmnics show packets rx/tx.  Have tried vmxnet3 and e1000.
