Licensing - standard license but distributed switch is available

Working on an HA config and reading about enabling LACP. Discovered I need an Enterprise or better license for this, but maybe not? I have a vCenter Server 6 Standard license, but I can create a Distributed Switch. Why is this an option if I only have a Standard license? vCenter version 6.7.

It's not the vCenter Server's, but the ESXi host's edition (Enterprise+ or Eval mode) which enables this feature.

vSAN license also brings the vDS option to Non-EnterprisePlus ESXi.

Adding hosts to the vDS is when their licenses will be validated, any edition of vCenter Server will allow you to create a vDS.

Thank you! This answers my question. Didn't understand why I could create a vDS if I didn't have the correct license.
