Left over files after cloning vm

Hi,I wanted to move datastore of a VM. Tried but got an error that Snapshot001.vmsn file is not found. Hence I cloned this VM and set the other datastore for its storage. Its turned on and working fine now. Now to release the space used on the original datastore, Can I just delete the files directly? Is there a way to check if the cloned vm is depending on any files from this old and original VM?

When you create a clone, it is an independent virtual machine, with no need to access or maintain an ongoing connection to the source virtual machine.

Yes. This is what I was expecting. Only concern is that if incase its a linked clone. How can I double check it's not a linked clone and nothing is depending on it?

When use you the clone option from your vSphere Client, it is a full clone.
