Is there a way to rename a VM using the vSphere REST API?

I want to rename a host and don't see a corresponding method (like PUT or PATCH) in the /vcenter/vm REST API. Is there a different way I can do this?

I know the REST API hasn't yet reached "feature parity" with the other interfaces (such as PowerShell API and command-line). Is there a roadmap for the vSphere REST API online?
